Read moreCorcoran sits in Kings County in the basin of the historic Tulare Lake, and it is row-crop and cotton country with farming operations that go back to the 1920s. The dust out here is different from valley dust in town. Lakebed soil is fine and alkaline, it carries salts, and it drifts for miles when a field is worked. On paint it does more than look dirty, because the salt holds moisture against the surface and against bare metal wherever a chip has opened up.
That is why a Corcoran detail usually starts at the bottom and works up. Wheels, wheel wells, lower panels and the underside of the rockers first, because that is where the heaviest of it collects, and it is abrasive enough that dragging it upward across good paint is how swirls get put in. Only once that is off does the rest of the wash make sense.
Cotton and row-crop dust adds lint and plant fibre to the mix, and that gets into radiator fins, cowl vents and the area under the wipers where nobody looks. It traps water. We pull that out by hand rather than blasting it further in, which is slower and is the reason a proper job out here is not a thirty minute wash.

Highway 137 runs out of downtown Tulare and ends at Highway 43 in Corcoran, so we are on one road from our door to yours. It is still inside our normal run and there is no travel charge.

It will come back, but what matters is whether it is sitting on the paint or bonded into it. A proper decontamination takes it back to a clean surface, and a sealant or coating after that means the next round rinses off instead of sticking. Without that step each layer makes the next one harder to remove.
